Picture this...as your guests arrive at the grand entrance to this Dallas Landmark, the excitment immediately consumes them: searchlights, valet parkers, the event spelled out on the huge, neon-framed, backlit marquee with the your company name and slogan spelled out, all crowned by the theater's landmark 100-foot-tall neon tower. And that's just outside the theater.
A beautiful red carpet leads the way into the three-story, vaulted lobby with mirrored ceiling, movie murals and grand staircase. As guests enter, they are greeted by a professional, celebrity impersonator -- Marilyn Monroe, perhaps --who conducts a quick humerous interview which is simulcast onto the Lakewood's giant movie screen to the entertainment of the guests already inside. (Just like they do at the Academy Awards!)
Once inside, our courteous staff, dressed in 1930s- vintage uniforms, direct your guests to the many ammenities available that evening. The large curved lobby bar accented with lighted glass block and murals, serving a full array of beverages, is a likely first stop. The casino may be their next stop or perhaps it's into the main foyer just past the lobby doors to the beautifully, theme-decorated, buffet, draped in linens and overflowing with fresh vegetables, fruits and cheeses, delicious meats, pastas, breads and the like. A separate table is addorned with a mouthwatering assortment of pastries and chocolates.
From the buffet area, guests get a bird's-eye view of the entire auditorium where the main event is staged. Thirty foot ceilings are accented with soft cove lighting, giant geometric murals backlit with neon dominate the side walls, floor to ceiling red velvet curtains back the 40 foot, elevated stage, which is flanked on either side by full scale Art Deco statues of goddesses holding a crescent moon. The beautiful red sea of theatre seating is set off with white, drapped table tops, adorned with gold and silver table lamps and themed table decorations.
The Lakewood's large stage is ideal for almost any production, awards ceremony, on stage performances, a DJ or even a band to liven up the atmosphere. Directly in front of the stage is a large dance floor if your guests are so inclined. It's a star-studded evening your guests will remember for a long time to come.
