Sunday, June 9, 2002, Cassandra Peterson, known to the public as Elvira, �Mistress of the Dark,� will host a public screening of her new film, �Elvira�s Haunted Hills,� at the Lakewood Theater in Dallas. A VIP reception, which includes a meet and greet session with Cassandra Peterson, food and beverages, will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. General admission, which is from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., includes a question and answer session, film screening, cash basis gourmet concession and a full bar.
Tickets for the VIP reception will cost $50 per person and general admission tickets are $10 per person. Tickets are available via the Lakewood Theater�s on line ticketing website. Please click the button along the left of this page labeled �PURCHASE TICKETS.� All proceeds from the screening will benefit AIDS Services of Dallas, a local non-profit organization that provides service-enriched housing to men, women, and children living with HIV/AIDS.
Peterson will emcee the Razzle Dazzle Dallas festival on Saturday evening, June 8, 2002.
Peterson, who is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the character�s creation as a horror movie hostess, has made over 1000 television appearances, starred in three movies, recorded five CDs, published four books and licensed over 350 products, which include pinball machines, comic books, computer games, beer, perfume and haunted houses. She has made guest appearances on the Tonight Show/Jay Leno, MTV Music Video Awards, CNN, Monstermania, Saturday Night Live and numerous other national and international television programs.
"Elvira�s Haunted Hills," shot this past winter in Transylvania, Romania, stars Elvira and co-stars Richard O� Brien, writer/creator of The Rocky Horror Picture Show . The gothic-horror comedy is set in 1851 Carpathia and takes its outrageousness from Vincent Price/Edgar Allen Poe/Roger Corman films of the early 60�s
